Welcome to this experimental blog, I am hoping that is will be a success and allow me to talk about things that I normally am not able to discuss. I am hoping for a lively blog with lots of different posts covering whatever I come across as time goes on.
A brief explanation for the name. I grow up in the Midwest and some of my friends families would have burn piles just outside the doors of their homes (like the above photo). It was pretty cool growing up as a kid and being able to bring the trash outside, throw it into an oil drum looking can, and play with gasoline and matches. It is still pretty common to see homes with these oil drums outside smoldering with trash, and yes, it was a magnificent smell. Anyways, the thought is that I am taking some leftover or unused thoughts and "burning" them here so that I can move on to other things to think about. With that explained now it will make sense when I am talking about Jesus one post, then soccer, then Theology then LoTR and how knows from there. I hope you enjoy, and please leave comments, I love me some good discussion. My prayer is that this blog will be a blessing to somebody, someday, somehow. Enjoy.
To open things up I will keep it simple and vent a bit about Liverpool FC. Most of those who know me, are quite aware that I am a Liverpool Red man, and a poser KOP-ite :) I am definitely not cool enough to be included in the KOP, but on Saturday afternoons I support a team called Liverpool; and I will sing until I drop in our Red and White Spion KOP! Anyways we lost today to Stoke, which is VERY lame. A mid-table, at best, team with a lot cheaper salary were somehow able to avoid a barrage of shots for a VERY expensive Liverpool squad. I mean we have spent soooooo much money and added sooooo many new and international faces to the squad and still we somehow manage to lose 1-0 to Stoke?!?!? Disappointing and unfortunate, but thankfully life moves on because I have peace with God the Father. I do have to say that Charlie Adam has been my favorite Summer addition to the squad and I am stoked to continue to see him and Suraz continue to cause havoc in the defensive lines of all those who oppose the mighty Reds. I am looking forward to seeing how king Kenny makes use of him in the midfield.
You'll Never Walk Alone, and that is all.
